This website documents the wide range of toy vehicles produced by Lone Star from the 1950s through to the 1980s. The website is the work of life-long Lone Star fan James Robertshaw with the hope to provide collectors with a one-stop reference site for all things Lone Star. Enjoy!
I have collected Lone Star toys since the late 1980's. I don't really remember what first attracted me to Lone Star toys other than I had some as a child (most of which are still in my parents garden shed!) and as a young collector with limited funds it was possible to pick examples up at toy fairs cheaply.
Most of my models have come from toy fairs and internet auction sites but I did find some of Lone Star's later ranges as old shop stock in the late 1980s. I have always tried to buy models in original mint boxed condition.
I especially like collecting Lone Star as unlike the larger manufactures (Matchbox, Corgi & Dinky Toys) there are no comprehensive listings of the models or colour variations produced. Consequently over the years I have found many models which I did not know existed! Even today after 30 years of searching new variants are still turning up.
