With numbering starting at 10, the big Mk.X Jaguar was the first model in the ‘Impy Super Cars’ range. This is an attractive model which captures the sweeping lines of the real car. Impy models with their distinctive jewelled headlights can be found in at least 4 different colours (including blue – not shown below).
The model was adapted to become part of the Flyers range which launched in April 1969. Initially it was issued in dark green with or without racing stripes. The Flyers Jaguar is another model which was included in the rare ‘Silver Flyers’ range although I’ve never seen the model – only the box!
A simplified version of the Jaguar went on to feature in Lone Star’s 1978 budget range of cars. (See ‘Impy Super Models’ page) and was still available (in a set towing a yacht) when the factory closed in 1986!
