The third completely new Flyers car joined the range in 1970 and was a model of Toyota’s stylish 2000GT. This was Lone Star’s first car based on a Japanese prototype and signified the importance of the Japanese market for Lone Star’s toy car exports.
Lone Star captured the look of the real car very well and today the Flyers 2000GT is a sought-after model especially the rare plated version from the ‘Silver Flyers’ range.
A simplified version of the 2000GT went on the feature in Lone Star’s 1978 budget range of cars. (See ‘Impy Super Models’ page).
