NO.23 ALFA ROMEO GIULIA 1600 SPIDER

Impy Version (1967-1968) / Flyers Version (1969-76)

Lone Star’s second convertible model for the Impy range was based on the beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Spider. Unfortunately, Lone Star’s designers did not do as good job as Pininfarina and completely failed to capture the Spiders elegant lines instead producing one of the worst looking models in the range.

As with several of Lone Star’s cars the Alfa Romeo as an Impy model looks over-bodied with its small wheels (the wheels needed to be small to allow the front axle to steer) whilst later Flyers models with their larger hi-speed Flyers wheels results in a model that sits too high off the ground.

Trying to find something positive to say, the Lone Star Alfa does at least give collectors a nice array of colour variations to collect with at least three different colours issued on both Impy and Flyers versions.
