No.34 followed on from No.33 Mobile Crane, by being another piece of plant based on an American prototype. The Impy model is of a Euclid 82-80 twin power crawler which is a big numb looking beast of a machine! Lone Star’s version captures the appearance of real thing although this ‘lump’ of a model does not make for a great toy especially as it lacks any operating features. Consequently I doubt it was a particularly successful model and was perhaps more a result of Lone Star trying to add some diversity to the Impy range rather than focusing on producing models which would sell well.
It is usually finished in ‘Euclid green’ or yellow with contrasting rubber tracks. The model was in both the Impy and later Commercials ranges having a production run of around 8 years. The "Hi-speed wheels" claim is even more dubious with this model!
The Euclid 82-80 is a big lump of a thing, as is Lone Star's version!
